Bayern claimed their first Cup in six years with a 3-0 win against VfB Stuttgart - thanks to Harry Kane's hat-trick - and Urbig was the starting goalkeeper as Manuel Neuer is nursing a calf injury ahead of the World Cup.
Asked during a news conference about Urbig's performance, Kompany praised: "Steady, as always. Whenever I speak about how great this season was, I also say how happy we are with this constellation with Manu, Jonas and Ulle (Sven Ulreich).
"And Jonas played a fantastic game, once again, and now I can say this again but Manu was also great this season, this is just what we have right now."
Urbig had already deputized for Neuer earlier in the year when the Bayern number one was also sidelined with calf muscle problems.
It was a first final for the 22-year-old goalkeeper and Kompany hopes there are even more to come.
"We shouldn't forget that for Jonas is also an important moment in his development. For Jonas is not bad that he played this game, he also played in the Champions League. I hope he plays many finals in his life but a very first final brings a lot for the future and that's why I'm happy he experienced that," the coach said.
Urbig will join Germany as a non-squad member for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico, which starts on June 11, while Neuer is making a comeback following his retirement from international football after Euro 2024.
Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann has confirmed that, if fit, Neuer will be his first option ahead of Hoffenheim's Oliver Baumann, who played in all World Cup qualifying matches.
