Where Clemson basketball landed in latest rankings after Duke loss
· Yahoo Sports
Clemson basketball’s recent two-game skid has sparked some discussion about the Tigers’ postseason outlook, but the bigger picture still suggests they remain in a good spot as March gets closer.
The Clemson Tigers are 20-6 overall and 10-3 in ACC play entering Wednesday’s road game at Wake Forest. Clemson sits at No. 20 nationally, with a NET ranking of 31, which is only a one-spot dip from last week. That stability shows the résumé has not taken a major hit despite losses to Virginia Tech and Duke.

From a résumé standpoint, Clemson is 4-4 in Quad 1 games and 6-2 in Quad 2, giving the Tigers a solid mix of quality wins and limited damaging losses. Road victories over Syracuse, Stanford and California, along with a neutral-court win against Georgia, continue to stand out. While another Quad 1 win would help, Clemson’s overall profile still looks comfortably inside the field.
Most national bracket projections continue to place Clemson in the middle of the bracket. ESPN has the Tigers as a No. 7 seed facing UCF, CBS projects a No. 7 seed matchup with UCLA, and USA Today lists Clemson as a No. 8 seed against Texas A&M.
Clemson also slid eight spots in Andy Katz’s latest Power 37 rankings, moving from No. 18 to No. 26 after last week’s losses. Duke, which beat Clemson on Saturday, climbed to No. 2 nationally, while several other ACC teams joined Clemson in Katz’s rankings, including Virginia, Louisville, Miami, North Carolina and NC State.
The Tigers had won 13 of 14 games prior to the two-loss stretch and carried a 14-game ACC road winning streak into last weekend, a sign of how consistent they have been away from home dating back to last season.

Clemson will try to bounce back Wednesday at Wake Forest before returning home Saturday to host Florida State, with opportunities still ahead to strengthen its NCAA Tournament positioning down the stretch.
