Evil British child killer fighting for life after jailhouse beatdown

· Toronto Sun

The most reviled monster in Britain is fighting for his life following a tangle with jailhouse justice.

Vile double child killer Ian Huntley, 52, was battered unconscious on Thursday by another inmate in his prison wing at HMP Frankland in County Durham. Huntley was left lying in a pool of blood, The UK Sun reported.

Media reports that the killer is “touch and go.” Cops say Huntley was battered relentlessly with a metal pole in a prison workshop.

Murdered best friends

Last October, pedophile rock star Ian Watkins was murdered at Wakefield Prison. This is the third beating for the widely reviled Huntley. In 2010, the sicko’s throat was slit.

“It was absolute chaos and Huntley was in a terrible state. I’m amazed someone was able to get anywhere near him because he is usually really closely protected,” a source told The Sun . “They must have timed it when he wasn’t with prison officers and must have used a weapon to injure him so severely.”

Huntley was known in the press as the Soham Killer for the town north of Cambridge where he murdered 10-year-old best friends Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman in 2002. He was sentenced to life in prison for the heinous crime that shocked the United Kingdom.

Bodies found a week later

School pals Holly and Jessica disappeared after leaving a family barbecue in Soham to buy some candy. Instead, school janitor Huntley lured the girls to his home and murdered them before disposing of their bodies in a ditch.

He later returned to the scene and tried to set them on fire. Their bodies were not found until more than a week later – near an airbase, 20 km from Soham.

But homicide detectives zeroed in on the killer quickly. Huntley had given detailed interviews to the press about the girls, and appeared to take an unusual interest in the case.

There was also a murder attempt on his life in 2018. Cops recorded his statement.

“There was an attempt on my life last year,” Huntley said. “I have no problems telling you his name, it was a prisoner who tried to kill me. A guy called Simon Maskrey. He came into my cell armed with a weapon and tried to cut my throat.

Doused with boiling water

“I managed to kick him in the chest and then to the stomach. I took the weapon off him and he was on the floor. At that point, one of my friends turned up and I said, ‘He has got a weapon’, just as this Simon was getting back to his feet. This Simon then looked at him then looked back at me and then my friend grabbed him from behind.

“Shortly afterwards staff arrived.”

He has been stabbed a number of times, beaten and doused with boiling water.

In press interviews before he was arrested for the double murder, Huntley was asked how the girls might react to a stranger in one interview. Holly, he said, would likely go quietly but Jessica would “put up a real fight and a real struggle.”

Reporters tipped off cops about the creepy janitor.

“He knew how they’d react because that’s how they reacted when he killed them,” one reporter said later.

His then fiancée, teaching assistant Maxine Carr, provided a false alibi. She was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in jail for perverting the course of justice and provided a new identity when she was sprung.

In March 2020, it was reported that she had gone into hiding after her new identity was exposed.
