The Dallas Cowboys have made a trade. It was initially reported on Tuesday that the team could look to trade away defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa. Given that the last half year (approximately) has yielded the Cowboys both Kenny Clark and Quinnen Williams, plus Otito Ogbonnia as of Tuesday as well, there was suddenly a surplus at the position. That ahs been remedied.

The Cowboys have traded Osa Odighizuwa

Odighizuwa was drafted in the third round by the Cowboys in 2021, the Micah Parsons draft, and had become an excellent player for the team. In fact, Odighizuwa was so impressive that he was rewarded with a 4-year, $80M extension right before free agency began last season.

The former third-round pick fetched a third-rounder from the San Francisco 49ers. The pick in question is number 92 overall and Dallas now has Day 2 capital when they previously did not.

Unfortunately sometimes in the NFL you do have to make a move as noted, and clearly the Cowboys feel like this is in their best interest. Odighizuwa marks the first player who the Cowboys have traded away in the 2026 league year and time will tell if anybody joins him in that capacity.
