How UNC fared as a 6th seed or lower in the NCAA Tournament in the past
· Yahoo Sports
Throughout North Carolina’s illustrious basketball history, the program has been known as one of college basketball’s blue bloods.
The Tar Heels are usually near the top of the sport, and when the NCAA Tournament arrives, they are often one of the top seeds. The NCAA began seeding all 40 teams from 1 to 10 in 1979, before the field expanded to 64 teams and eventually to the current 1-through-16 format.
