They'll be hoping the March Madness doesn't kick in yet, because it's 1-seed Duke against 16-seed Siena, a pairing that has only resulted in two upsets in the history of the tournament.

Of note, though, Duke may not be at full strength.

In addition to point guard Caleb Foster battling injury, Patrick Ngongba is hurt, too.

Head coach Jon Scheyer provided the latest about Ngongba on Wednesday, the day before the tourney-opening game.

Patrick Ngongba injury update

Patrick Ngongba is "very unlikely" to play against Siena to open March Madness, Duke coach Jon Scheyer told reporters on Wednesday, via The Athletic's Brendan Marks.

Marks adds that Ngongba is still in a walking boot and using a knee rover scooter.

The center also wasn't taking part at Duke's open practice on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-11 center is averaging 10.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this season while shooting 60.2% from the floor.

In his absence, the versatile Maliq Brown gets more playing time. That's not necessarily a downgrade for Duke, but it thins out the overall center depth chart.

They'd sure like to get Ngongba back sooner rather than later to make a push toward a national title.
