Nebraska softball delivers shutout win against Michigan State

Nebraska softball (22-5, 4-0) opened its three-game series with Michigan State (13-14, 0-4) on Friday afternoon. The Huskers took game one, shutting out the Spartans 2-0.

Jordy Frahm (8-3) delivered the shutout for Nebraska, pitching a complete game, throwing a season-high 12 strikeouts and holding Michigan State to two hits. Her play in the circle helped the Huskers, who produced 11 hits on the day but only two runs. Nebraska stranded 13 runners on base.

Jesse Farrell and Hannah Camenzind produced the two runs. Camenzind delivered an RBI single in the third, and Farrell struck a solo home run in the fifth. The duo, along with Alexis Jensen, batted 2-for-3.

Jesse Farrell home run and Hannah Camenzind RBI single accounted for the scoring for the Big Red. Farrell also added a double. Hannah Coor batted 2-for-4, and Kacie Hoffmann finished 1-for-2 with two walks.

The Huskers extend their win streak to 11, and head Coach Rhonda Revelle picked up her 1,200th career win. Nebraska wraps up the series with the Spartans on Saturday with a doubleheader starting at noon CT. The games will be streamed on B1G+.
