The result moved them up to eighth place in the table with three games to play and means they cannot mathematically be relegated in their first season in English league football.

Guernsey captain Candice Bougourd gave her side a great start as she fired in from six yards in the seventh minute to score her 10th goal of the season.

Phoebe Fitzgerald's deflected strike levelled the scores after 32 minutes while the Havant player had a second goal disallowed for offside just before the interval.

Heidi Dawber scored what proved to be Guernsey's winner 12 minutes into the second half as she got on the end of a Bougourd free-kick.

The visitors almost came away from Guernsey with a point, but Mia Gardner hit the home side's crossbar in stoppage time.

The game was Guernsey's final home match of their inaugural campaign in English football, with three away games in the next month rounding out their season.
