Suspects sought in Richmond Hill jewelry store robbery; Hamilton man facing drug charges

York Regional Police are seeking at least three suspects following a daytime smash-and-grab robbery at a Richmond Hill jewelry store.

On Friday at 5:39 p.m., cops responded to a commercial robbery in the area of Yonge St. and Carrville Rd., where police said a trio of masked suspects entered the store carrying hammers.
Once inside, they smashed display cases and stole a quantity of jewelry and quickly fled the area to an awaiting dark-coloured sedan.
There were no injuries reported.
The suspect vehicle has since been recovered and was found to have fake licence plates affixed to it.
The first suspect is described as a Black male in his mid-to-late teens with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, a black hoodie, black track pants, black sneakers, black gloves and was carrying a red duffle-style backpack.
Suspect No. 2 is described as a Black male in his mid to late teens with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black hoodie with a white horizontal stripe, black track pants, black sneakers and black gloves.
Suspect No. 3 is described as a Black male in his mid to late teens with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black mask, black hoodie with a white horizontal stripe, grey track pants, black sneakers and black gloves.
There is no description for the fourth suspect, the getaway driver.

HAMILTON MAN FACING DRUG CHARGES
Hamilton Police have charged a man after he was allegedly seen possessing and consuming illegal drugs in public.
On Saturday around 8:30 p.m., a pair of Hamilton officers were conducting proactive patrols in the area of King St. W. and West Ave. when they saw observed a group of individuals behaving suspiciously.
While monitoring the group, the officers witnessed one individual allegedlyh consuming illegal drugs using a glass pipe.
The officers approached and arrested the 41-year-old Hamilton man.
A subsequent search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of a quantity of illegal drugs and related paraphernalia, including 227 Dilaudid pills, 8.16 grams of fentanyl, 2.5 grams of methamphetamine, a digital scale with drug residue, and two cellular phones.
The accused has been charged with four counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and one count each of possession of proceeds of crime and fail to comply with a probation order.
