North Carolina's search for a new men's basketball head coach continues on. While there hasn't been much movement in terms of landing one of their top guys, that likely will come after the NCAA Tournament.

As the search continues on, more and more opinions are coming out on who should be the coach. The latest comes from NBA forward Draymond Green who has his pick for the next coach and it's someone he's familiar with.

On the latest episode of "The Draymond Green Show" the forward discussed the UNC job and made his case for Jerry Stackhouse.

“The University of North Carolina job is open and there are a lot of big names being thrown around… I think North Carolina is going to have an interesting choice to make… But this is the NIL era and how do you get a name that your biggest donors would be willing to support? I think it is interesting in this era,” Green said.

“And the name that jumps off the page at me is Jerry Stackhouse. In the day and age of NIL, where your boosters will rally around one of their own, one that they believe in. Stackhouse has the demeanor for this. He’s a guy that will be respected… He should definitely be in the running for this job… He had a great career at North Carolina…”

Stackhouse coached at Vanderbilt for five seasons, going 70-92 in that stint and failed to make the NCAA Tournament. Since then, he's been an assistant with the Golden State Warriors, picking up more coaching experience at the NBA level.

While Stackhouse is a 'family' candidate, it doesn't really make a lot of sense at this point. This is a crucial hire for the Tar Heels and finding someone established with success should be the goal.
