The New England Patriots quarterback is heading into the 2026 offseason with a fresh cut. He has had a shaggy head of hair in the past, but has now shaved his head as part of a charity event. 

Maye participated in Granite Telecommunications' annual "Saving for Shaving" fundraiser, in which he and others shaved their heads to raise money. Local news station WHDH has the expected total to reach more than $3 million.

The Patriots QB was all smiles at the start of the event, and he couldn't stop giggling. Part of that may have been because his wife, Ann Michael Maye, was the one holding the clippers, and she started the shave by going right down the middle of his head.

Ann Michael eventually passed the razor off, and the rest of Maye's head was shaved. There is plenty of time before the season for his hair to grow back, and the QB is likely now just hoping that it does grow back.

Why did Drake Maye shave his head?

Maye shaved his head as part of a fundraiser to raise money for the Boston Children's Hospital.

It is unclear from reports whether his shaving his head was a reward for hitting a fundraising benchmark, or if he just offered to do it as a high-profile figure in the area who would shave his head for the "Saving for Shaving" event.
