MP News: CM Mohan Yadav Pays Tributes To Canada Plane Crash Victim Gurkirat Singh Manocha After Mortal Remains Brought To Hometown Ujjain

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Chief Minister Mohan Yadav paid tribute to the late Gurkirat Singh Manocha during his visit to Ujjain on Friday.

He offered floral tributes to the mortal remains of Manocha, who died in a tragic plane crash accident in Canada a few days ago.

Yadav expressed grief over the incident and said the state government stands with the people of Madhya Pradesh in their moments of happiness as well as sorrow.

Mohan Yadav shared a post on X expressing grief over the death of Gurkirat Singh Manocha. He said Manocha’s mortal remains were brought to hometown Ujjain after the tragic incident in Canada. Yadav said he visited Manocha’s residence, paid his last respects and met the grieving family.

He added that the state government always stands with the people in their time of sorrow and had requested the Government of India to help bring the body back to India.

He said that with the efforts of the Government of India under Narendra Modi and the Madhya Pradesh government, the mortal remains of Manocha were brought back from Canada to India.

The Chief Minister also prayed to Lord Mahakal to give strength to the bereaved family to bear the loss.

Several leaders were present during the tribute. These included state minister Gautam Tetwal, Member of Parliament Anil Firojiya and MLA Anil Jain Kaluheda. They also offered flowers and paid their respects to the deceased.

Gurkirat Singh Manocha, an Indian student from Ujjain, died in British Columbia after a violent attack. His family said he was attacked by around 10 to 12 people because of an old dispute.

They also claimed he was run over by a vehicle while returning home after finishing his shift at Walmart.

The incident happened near the Charlie Lake boat ramp.

Police from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police have started an investigation.
