UCLA will be hosting a celebration for the UCLA women’s basketball team on Wednesday at 6:00 pm in Pauley Pavilion. The event will honor the program’s first NCAA national champions in history.

The UCLA Bruins celebrate their 79-51 win over the South Carolina Gamecocks to claim the NCAA women’s basketball national championship at Mortgage Matchup Center in Phoenix on April 5, 2026.

No. 1 seed UCLA dominated No. 1 seed South Carolina in the championship game, winning 79-51. The 28-point margin marked the third-largest in the history of the women’s NCAA title game, according to ESPN.

The Bruins’ only loss of the season was against Texas in November. UCLA avenged that loss in the semifinals on Friday, defeating the Longhorns 51-44 and holding a lead for the entire game.

Wednesday’s event will also be a chance to celebrate the six graduating players on the team, who contributed to all 79 points the Bruins scored in the title game. All six players (Lauren Betts, Kiki Rice, Gabriela Jaquez, Charlisse Leger-Walker, Gianna Kneepkens and Angela Dugalić) will be entering the 2026 WNBA Draft.
