Five-star offensive tackle names his top four schools
· Yahoo Sports
The Georgia Bulldogs could be getting a crown jewel in the class of 2027. Offensive tackle recruit Mark Matthews has listed Georgia in his top four schools, according to Hayes Fawcett. Matthews has also listed the Miami Hurricanes, LSU Tigers, and Texas A&M Aggies to round out his top four.
Matthews is a five-star prospect in the class of 2027. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound offensive lineman plays football for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is the No. 1 offensive tackle prospect and No. 3 overall prospect in the class of 2027.

247Sports and Rivals have both listed Miami as their Crystal Ball predictions. They're predicting the recruiting battle will go a similar way to another five-star offensive lineman Jackson Cantwell, who signed with the Hurricanes in the class of 2026.
Cantwell was on Georgia's radar for a long time, with Benjamin Wolk of 247Sports even predicting him to go to the Bulldogs. However, he chose Miami thanks in part to a lucrative name, image and likeness (NIL) contract.
Georgia has earned a commitment from five-star running back Kemon Spell, who decommitted from Penn State. However, the Bulldogs have been built through the trenches in recruiting.
Five-star defensive tackle Valdin Sone and four-star offensive tackle Ekene Ogboko were among Georgia's highest-rated recruits from the class of 2026. In 2025, Georgia brought in 247Sports' No. 1 defensive tackle (Elijah Griffin), No. 1 edge rusher (Isaiah Gibson), and the No. 4 offensive tackle (Juan Gaston). Hopefully, they can win this recruiting battle for Matthews, who has the talent to play as a freshman.
