Kirk Cousins watched film with Fernando Mendoza on Raiders visit

From the sounds of it, Mendoza's visit to Las Vegas on Tuesday was quite useful. Both for him and the Raiders.

The Heisman Trophy and National Championship winning QB took his one and only pre-draft visit to the team who is expected to select him at number one overall in this month's NFL Draft. And when he arrived, he was greeted by the GOAT Tom Brady and newly signed Raiders QB Kirk Cousins. The latter speaking with the media Wednesday for his introductory press conference where he was asked for his thoughts on Mendoza.

"I've watched him from a distance. He had an incredible college career. Got to run into him yesterday at his draft visit. He seems like a high-caliber person and if we're fortunate enough to get him here, then it will be a privilege to work together," said Cousins, adding that he sees Mendoza as having a "natural feel for the position."

The thing is, though, Cousins didn't just "run into" Mendoza during his visit. The two actually sat down and watched film together, as Cousins told Good Morning Football. He also spoke more definitively about Mendoza being drafted by the Raiders.

"He was here yesterday on his draft visit and we were able to watch film with together. He'll be a great addition to the room," Cousins said of Mendoza.

"It will be noisy quarterback room, we'll all be helping each other and we'll all be pulling in the same direction."

Sounds basically like that visit was scheduled on the first day of Raiders offseason program by design. And in a way, Mendoza just joined his (soon-to-be) new teammates on day one as well, giving him a bit of a head start on his preparations for when he can take the field with them in OTA's.
