PSG Plans Quiet Summer Transfer Window With Only Marquinhos Future in Doubt

· Yahoo Sports

Still a candidate for the crown in the Champions League, PSG confirms that the work in the transfer window was well done. Not many elements will need to be changed next summer. Only captain Marquinhos is truly threatened.

Sporting advisor Luis Campos and head coach Luis Enrique are the two main men at Paris Saint-Germain in terms of transfers. The two men were facing criticism for their management of the summer 2025 window.

PSG had not recruited much, betting fully on the backbone of the reigning European champion. The fatigue accumulated over recent months first caused fears of the worst.

Ultimately, the bet seems to be paying off for the Parisians, who qualified for the Champions League semifinals. Paris is the favorite to retain its European crown in Budapest, and according to L'Equipe, this allows Luis Campos to prepare calmly for next season.

Luis Enrique has perfectly integrated young homegrown talents like Senny Mayulu, Ibrahim Mbaye, and Quentin Ndjantou. Under these conditions, it is difficult to imagine this balance being shaken up next summer.

L'Equipe confirms that PSG will not make a "revolution" in its squad during the transfer window. This applies to both arrivals and departures. There is a desire to keep experienced leaders, notably Ousmane Dembele and Fabian Ruiz.

"The club says it is confident" about a future extension for the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner, the sports daily specifies, while rumors had mentioned growing tension in the Dembele case, with the player reportedly demanding on the salary front.

Only one key player is likely to leave, Marquinhos, 31. Under contract until 2028, the Brazilian defender benefits from an exit clause for services rendered. Having been present in Paris since 2013, he is master of his destiny.

Either he continues the adventure, or he leaves for another appealing project. Marquinhos greatly enjoys life in the French capital, but he will think long and hard about all options.

Last year, he decided to stay at the club just before the Munich final. Given his great performance at Liverpool on Tuesday night, PSG is already signing up for the scenario to repeat itself.
