The 31-year-old has confirmed he will leave the Manchester club when his contract expires this summer.

Stones has made only seven Premier League appearances this season due to injury issues.

He has been an important first-team player for City since joining in 2016.

The England international has made 293 across all competitions, helping his side win six Premier League titles and the Champions League.

Stones is an elite ball-playing defender who boasts plenty of experience at the top level of football.

But Everton are currently well-stocked in the middle of the defence and do not need another centre-back.

Jarrad Branthwaite sustained a hamstring injury against Liverpool last month. And though he will miss the rest of the season, he is expected to be back in time to undergo a full pre-season.

Michael Keane has also signed a new contract, keeping him at the club until 2027.

Everton have James Tarkowski on their books, while Jake O’Brien can also play as a central defender.

Right-back will likely be a priority for David Moyes’ side in the summer transfer window

Nathan Patterson has struggled for fitness and consistency this season, making just six top-flight appearances.

Seamus Coleman has been a loyal servant for Everton over the years, but his contract is set to expire in June.

Moyes has occasionally utilised James Garner at right-back, but that is not his natural position.
