Neither team tallied a goal in the opening 18 minutes of play, but in the second period, Florida scored twice to take a 2-0 lead.
In the third period, the Everblades lit the lamp two more times for a commanding 4-0 lead in the final period before Savannah responded.
The Ghost Pirates netted two goals in 39 seconds to cut their deficit in half, but a Florida empty-net goal sealed Savannah’s fate.
“It was a great experience for us,” said Ghost Pirates head coach Jared Staal. “[Florida] has a ton of experience over there, and you can’t make that up.”
Ghost Pirates forward Logan Drevitch has been a member of the team all four seasons.
“Making the playoffs was the standard here,” said Drevitch. “We came up short tonight, but we can’t hang our heads.”
