After trading for former Chicago Bears and New York Jets signal-caller Justin Fields, the Chiefs front office selected former LSU Tigers passer Garrett Nussmeier with the No. 249 selection in the 2026 NFL Draft.
While Brett Veach was surely satisfied with the talent he had secured at the quarterback position after the draft, he saw fit to bring a few quarterbacks in for tryouts during Kansas City's rookie minicamp last week — most notably E.J. Warner, who is the son of legendary NFL quarterback Kurt Warner.
According to NFL insider Mike Garafolo, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid got a "good look" at Warner over the weekend:

Despite his efforts during rookie camp, Warner failed to sign a contract with Kansas City and is now headed West to participate in the Denver Broncos' offseason program.
