Robert Sanchez’s nasty collision on Thursday has ruled him out of this game, meaning Filip Jorgensen returns to play in goal for the first time since his horror error against PSG in the Champions League.
After that, things get weird. It looks like a back three, with Wesley Fofana, Jorrel Hato and Levi Colwill at centre back.
Marc Cucurella and Malo Gusto would then be a wing backs. Moises Caicedo and Andrey Santos play as the double pivot, with Cole Palmer and Enzo Fernandez playing off Joao Pedro up top.
That means Romeo Lavia and Trevoh Chalobah, regulars from recent games, have been dropped.
The formation change was predictable, given we’re so short of attacking options. Liam Delap is the only senior attacker on the bench. Ryan Kavuma-McQueen and Mathis Eboue are called up from the youth team.
Reece James, sounded close to being fit for a start today, is also present on the bench.
Here are the full team line-ups for Liverpool vs Chelsea (kick off at 12:30 GMT)
