Atletico boss Diego Simeone has described Barcelona as the best team in the world after Sunday’s 2-0 win over Real Madrid delivered a second straight La Liga title for Hansi Flick’s side.

“They’re the best team playing in the world. They deservedly won a league title from start to finish, and last year too, with incredible dominance,” he told a press conference.
Yet he couldn’t resist reminding the world that Atletico knocked Barca out of the Copa del Rey and the Champions League this season.
“Congratulations to them, they play amazing football. I was watching yesterday’s game and thinking, we knocked Barcelona out twice, my God,” he added.
Barca will hope to learn from both of those defeats for next season as they aim to add more trophies under Hansi Flick.
For now, the Catalans will enjoy finishing top of the pile once again.
With three games left to play, Barca are 14 points ahead of Real Madrid and 28 clear of fourth-placed Atletico.
