It's still the beginning of May, but things are starting to get late early for the New York Mets. It doesn't seem like this team has an opportunity to turn things around, barring something drastic happening, meaning something will have to change over the next few weeks to months in terms of a trade involving some of their better players.

The Mets have multiple players who could be traded, with former Toronto Blue Jays star Bo Bichette being at the top of that list. According to the latest report, it sounds like the infielder could be available.
“This is why the Mets soon may be the center of attention once they realize that this season is a lost cause, letting their rivals know they are open for business. They have three of the top trade chips in the game in starters Freddy Peralta and Clay Holmes and infielder Bo Bichette,” Bob Nightengale of USA Today wrote.
It's interesting that not even a year later, the Blue Jays seem to have been proven right about Bichette.
Perhaps things would be different if he were in Toronto, as he was used to the city and organization, but the Blue Jays letting him walk now seems to have been the right idea. It's also strange to think that he might be on his third team in just a year. About a year ago, most thought that the two-time American League hit leader would be in Toronto for his entire career.
