Atlanta man sentenced for stealing Beyoncé’s unreleased music

Kelvin Evans, the 41-year-old Atlanta man who broke into Beyoncé’s choreographer’s car and stole a hard drive containing her unreleased music, got to know his fate in court on Tuesday.

Evans pleaded guilty before the start of his trial, which was scheduled to start in two weeks.
According to The LA Times, the theft happened when Evans broke into the rented vehicle while choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue stopped at a restaurant to eat. The dancers were on Beyoncé’s Atlanta’s leg of the Cowboy Carter tour.
Police said Evans damaged the window of the boot of the car and stole two suitcases containing two computers, five jump drives of unreleased music, as well as footage, plans for the tour production and past and future set lists. He also stole clothing, Apple AirPods Max headphones and designer sunglasses, according to the report.
Evans was later arrested before getting released on $20,000 (R329 030) bail. He was formally charged in October and initially pleaded not guilty in January. He rejected the plea deal last month, reported The Guardian.
Evens has since pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison and three years on probation.
The stole items were not recovered at the time of his arrest. It is not clear if they are still unrecovered.
