The San Francisco Giants have won their last two series against the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers, but their odds of turning into sellers at the trade deadline are still solid.
If they do wind up as sellers, the question then becomes who will the team actually consider trading away? Robbie Ray and Tyler Mahle are two obvious candidates, while there are a few others like Luis Arraez and Harrison Bader who make sense as well.
But, according to Robert Murray of Fansided.com, there is a noteworthy rumor on three key players in Rafael Devers, Willy Adames, and Matt Chapman.
"It's those types of players who should be eyed as trade candidates in San Francisco, not Rafael Devers, Matt Chapman, or Willy Adames," Murray writes.
This is a noteworthy rumor, as what this means is that Devers, Chapman, and Adames, unfortunately for the rest of MLB, are not likely trade candidates this season.
MLB gets bad news with trade rumor on 3 Giants stars
For top contenders around Major League Baseball, being able to pry one of those three veterans from the Giants would've been a nice possibility.
Even though all three have had their struggles this season, Devers might be the best slugger available for trade, Chapman might've been the best third baseman, and Adames the best shortstop at this year's deadline.

It would not be a surprise if the Giants did wind up selling, but this rumor does point to MLB clubs not getting the chance to acquire Devers, Chapman, or Adames.
San Francisco is still a solid team and will likely try to contend in 2027 even if 2026 doesn't go to plan.
These three players will be key contributors in such a scenario, whereas the other potential trade chips likely won't play much of a long-term role for the Giants.
