The wait is over — the NCAA softball tournament regionals are underway with three games at each site on tap Saturday.

Two teams will be eliminated from each regional on the second day of competition, bringing a quick end to those schools' seasons. 

All but one of the top 16 national seeds prevailed in Friday's openers, but No. 9 Florida State is facing potential early elimination after a loss to Stetson. Several regional seeds in the new alignment also must bounce back from opening-day losses, including Clemson, Washington, Texas State, Louisville and Southeast Louisiana.
