The Oklahoma City Thunder held practice on Sunday. After about a week off, they're ready to face the San Antonio Spurs in a highly anticipated 2026 Western Conference Finals series. The NBA's clear-cut top-two teams mowed down the rest of the field to reach this point.
We're also about a handful of hours away from learning that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander will be a back-to-back MVP winner. So, a lot is happening on this busy off day before the Thunder and Spurs square off in the NBA's version of a final four.
Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault, Alex Caruso and Jaylin Williams talked to the media after practice. All three talked about facing the Spurs for the first time since they punched their ticket with a Game 6 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Mark Daigneault on Sam Presti’s San Antonio roots: “I think when you are young and forming an understanding of whatever, the environment you're in matters. Jaylin Williams on what they can reference from their regular-season series with the Spurs to prepare for the WCF: “Honestly, nothing. The playoffs is such a different monster. It's a different game. Every night, regardless of who we're playing, who he's lined up against, he takes the same approach. I don't think anybody on our team wakes up… pic.twitter.com/1fh72hUMeF
