Vytas Valincius' solo home run against Missouri on May 20 in the second round of the SEC Tournament was the record-breaking 104th homer of the season.

It beat last season's record of 103 home runs. They are the only two 100-home run seasons in program history.

Ace Reese leads the Bulldogs in home runs for the second consecutive season with 20. He is only the third player in program history with back-to-back 20-home run seasons, joining MSU greats Rafael Palmeiro and Will Clark.

Two of Mississippi State's most memorable home runs of the season came at Dudy Noble Field in the LSU series. First, Kevin Milewski hit a walk-off home run in extra innings on April 24. Then in the next game on April 25, Jacob Parker hit a game-tying grand slam in the seventh inning in front of the largest on-campus crowd of the college baseball season.

Valinicus' home run gave MSU a 5-2 lead against Missouri. Ryder Woodson also hit a three-run homer earlier in the game.
