Apparently it wasn't enough there, but the Indiana Fever noticed. They've signed VanSlooten not long after the Storm cut her loose.

The Fever announced the move on Friday, with VanSlooten stepping into the roster space vacated by the waiving earlier this week of Shatori Walker-Kimbrough.

Indiana definitely needed some frontcourt depth, and the 6-foot-3 VanSlooten can provide that.

VanSlooten was the No. 39 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft and played four games for the Storm before her release -- she averaged 4.3 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

She began her college career at Oregon before transferring to Michigan State. With the Spartans in 2024-25, VanSlooten averaged 15.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game.

VanSlooten rarely attempts 3-pointers, so most of her impact is made on the interior, including as a difference-making offensive rebounder.

She's also a great instinctual defender -- in her final season at MSU, she averaged 1.9 steals and 1.0 blocks per game.

VanSlooten comes with the added bonus of being comfortable in the Midwest -- she's from Toledo, Ohio, where she developed into a top-tier recruit before finishing her prep career at IMG Academy in Florida.

Now, it's safe to expect VanSlooten to have some fans make the trek to watch her in Indiana.

The Fever announced the deal for VanSlooten as a rest-of-season contract, so if she makes a good first impression here, she probably isn't going anywhere.
