Makai Lemon was as reliable as any receiver could be at USC. Yet, coming into the NFL draft, many experts still had their doubts, and Lemon fell to 20 on the draft board. So far in rookie minicamp, Makai Lemon has left everyone impressed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Shining this early gives hope that he will fly with the Eagles when the NFL season kicks off.

In a recent article, Geoffrey A Knox breaks down the early excitement on Makai Lemon. Here is what he had to say:

"Of course, rookie minicamp praise should always be viewed carefully. Success in the short version during spring workouts guarantees nothing once training camp and the regular season arrive. Still, this is exactly the type of beginning both the Eagles and their fan base wanted to see. Philadelphia already fields one of the NFL’s most dangerous offenses with Smith, Saquon Barkley, Dallas Goedert, and Jalen Hurts leading the way. If Lemon develops quickly enough to become another reliable weapon within that group, the Eagles' offense could become even more difficult to defend than it already was.

For now, though, the reviews coming out of rookie minicamp sound like confirmation of something Eagles fans were hoping to hear all along: Makai Lemon looks exactly like the type of player Philadelphia believed it drafted. There is also talk that he's a nice bet for potential postseason recognition."

The Eagles' offense without Makai Lemon has enough to be a great team and a nightmare for defenses. With Makai Lemon, this offense has a chance to be special. Makai Lemon is impressive early, and he should be someone to keep an eye out for this upcoming season, as one of the top young receivers, maybe even a potential favorite for offensive rookie of the year.
