Kawhi Leonard Drawing Trade Interest From Eastern Conference Contender
· Yahoo Sports
Los Angeles Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard is entering the final year of his contract with the organization, and his future remains somewhat uncertain.
The Clippers have not made the playoffs since the 2024 season, and in 2022, 2023, and 2024 they were eliminated in the first round each year. During Leonard’s tenure, the farthest Los Angeles advanced was the Western Conference Finals in the 2020-21 season, when they ultimately lost to the Phoenix Suns.

Now, with the Clippers seemingly taking steps backward despite a strong season from Leonard, there is expected to be significant interest in the two-time NBA champion if Los Angeles explores a trade this offseason.
One team rumored to be a potential suitor, according to ClutchPoints reporter Brett Siegel, is the Detroit Pistons, who earned the No. 1 seed in the Eastern Conference before being eliminated in seven games by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the second round.

Leonard’s biggest concern in recent years has been his availability.
However, he appeared in 65 games this season, earned All-NBA Second Team honors, and averaged 27.9 points, 6.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists, and 1.9 steals per game while shooting 50.5% from the field and 38.7% from three-point range.
