The Spurs are down 3-2 in the series to the Thunder, but the focus is not on basketball the day after the game. Instead, the focus is on Spurs superstar center Victor Wembanyama.
The Frenchman, who often plays like an extraterrestrial, was in human form in Game 5. Wembanyama struggled mightily, shooting 4-of-15 from the field for 20 points with six rebounds, one assist, three blocks and went 0-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Wembanyama struggled in Game 5 during a must-win situation for his team, and rather than facing the media afterward, he opted to skip his postgame media responsibilities altogether.

This is the third time Wembanyama skipped out on the media in these playoffs.
The first time he did so was when he suffered a concussion in Game 2 of the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers. The second time was when he was ejected for an elbow in Game 4 of the second round against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Wembanyama skipped the media and never took accountability for his actions.
Many were flabbergasted by his decison to not to talk to the media after Game 5.
Maybe if the NBA, Silver and the refs fulfill their duties..This league, this product is nothing without its players. The lack of respect towards its main stakeholders is astounding. And Wemby might be the biggest sales pitch of the NBA of the last 30 years.

That's yall face of the league? Can only show off when he wins and he's up. Kid got growing to do but he's showing his weakness

It will be framed as "intensity" or his "absurd competitiveness" some talking head will glorify him for "letting his actions do the talking" lol

Meanwhile if Edwards or Maxey did it, it would be "immaturity".
Wembanyama, 22, has proven that he is a superstar in the league; however, his recent actions have had many questioning if he is fit for it at this time.
It doesn't stop with the media. The two-time All-Star also received a ton of criticism after he appeared to whisper something to Mason Plumlee and Bismack Biyombo before they checked in for garbage time.
With 2:13 left in the fourth quarter, and the Spurs down 14, the camera caught Wembanyama whispering something to both players.
Plumlee proceeded to give a hard foul to Thunder guard Jared McCain, hitting him hard in the back while OKC was running a play.
With 45 seconds left in the contest, McCain drove to the basket, and while attempting a shot, Biyombo blocked his shot. There may have been some unnecessary movement towards the end of the play, which caused McCain to fall hard on his back.
Victor Wembanyama- Chet Holmgren rivalry taking center stage
Another video that went viral during Game 5 involved Wembanyama bumping into Thunder center Chet Holmgren while the two were walking back toward their respective benches. Thunder big man Jaylin Williams appeared to take exception to the moment, and his reaction was one for the ages.

There has been a rivalry between Wembanyama and Holgrem since their gold-medal clash as teenagers, and it has only evolved in their NBA careers and certainly in this Western Conference Finals matchup.
Holmgren has been one to downplay the personal animosity, while Wembanyama seems to play with added motivation whenever the two square off.
Expect the Spurs to come out and play Game 6 like there is no tomorrow. As for the Thunder, they'll look to advance to their second consecutive NBA Finals in their quest for a back-to-back.
