Tounde Yessoufou has made his decision, and it does not involve the Baylor Bears.

The standout freshman from last season withdrew from the 2026 NBA draft on Wednesday and committed to play for St. John's next season, according to ESPN's Shams Charania. The deadline for players to remove their names from the draft and maintain college eligibility for 2026-27 was 10:59 p.m. CT on Wednesday, May 27.

Yessoufou entered the transfer portal in April after a historic first season in Waco. He was Baylor's second-leading scorer, averaging 17.8 points per game, and broke freshman school records for points (605), field goals made (226) and field goals attempted (486). The guard kept his options open by also entering his name into the NBA draft, and some analysts projected him as a potential first-round pick.

The native of Benin will now join a St. John's Red Storm team that won the Big East and advanced to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament this past season under head coach Rick Pitino. Baylor head coach Scott Drew has already reshaped his roster with four new transfer players, including former Penn State guard Kayden Mingo and former Liberty guard Brett Decker.

Yessoufou was a five-star recruit in the high school class of 2025 that included the likes of Kansas' Darryn Peterson, BYU's AJ Dybantsa and Duke's Cameron Boozer, all likely lottery picks in this year's NBA draft.
