The Rutgers offense is one that does not get much attention during the offseason.
That has changed with the emergence of KJ Duff — and he is gaining plenty of steam heading into the 2026 season.

“I had to add someone who should know but I don’t think they do,” former college football great David Pollack said. “If I asked someone to name a Rutgers wide receiver, I don’t think they can do it.”
Pollack put together an incredible career on the field and now, he is highlighting players to watch as an analyst. One name coming out of the Big Ten was the Scarlet Knights’ pass catcher.
Pollack spoke about Duff on his “See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack” podcast. Here is what he had to say:
“This dude is an absolute freak show. Not good quarterback play, not an offense that sets the world on fire by any stretch of the imagination. How about the cathces that he continuously makes. He led the nation with 22 contested catches a year ago. He picked up a first down or scored on 50 of his 60 catches last season. I know he was one of three dudes in the Big Ten to go over 1,000 yards with Makai Lemon and Jeremiah Smith. But no one talks about this dude. This dude will be a first-round pick.”
Duff came to Rutgers after many schools were recruiting him as a tight end. He was turned into a wide receiver and enjoyed a breakout sophomore year. In 2025, Duff totaled 60 catches for 1,084 yards and seven touchdowns.
The Scarlet Knights have a true No. 1 receiver in the Big Ten that has a chance to go in the first round of next year’s draft.
