The Boston Red Sox fired manager Alex Cora in late April and promoted Triple-A manager Chad Tracy as their interim manager.

After a month on the job in the MLB, Tracy has noticed some key differences between managing at Triple-A and the MLB. The biggest change for Tracy is in the MLB, the sole focus is on winning, which is a change, as development was often the most important thing in the minors.

"That part’s been fun, actually,” Tracy said to MLB.com. “Your whole mindset in Triple-A is you’ve got to keep an eye on who’s an immediate option for the big league team. How do we make that person better, and/or, how do we prepare them for what they're going to be asked to do up there?

“And then, when you get here, everything you're doing, whether you win the game or not, is revolving around that. I think most people who coach in the Minor Leagues for a long time, you embrace the thought of getting to a space where the whole mindset of the day is about winning the game.”

Although Boston has continued to struggle, the Red Sox have played better under Tracy, but the slow start has doomed them.

Boston is 23-33 and is five games back of a Wild Card spot.
