Report indicates why Dolphins RB retired quickly after signing

After selecting 13 players throughout the seven rounds and three days of the 2026 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins then signed 11 undrafted rookies to compete for spots on their roster and practice squad this offseason.

Among the 11 that they signed was Texas A&M running back Le'Veon Moss, who rushed for 1,767 yards and 22 touchdowns on 5.5 yards per attempt and caught 24 passes for an additional 236 yards over four years for the Aggies.

However, after the team's rookie minicamp, Moss surprisingly announced his retirement from the NFL.

Late last week, the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reported that Moss retired after several injuries “made him fall out of love with the game.” During his time at Texas A&M, Moss suffered a torn ACL and MCL in 2024, and this past year, he had multiple akle injuries that cost him time.

Moss would've had an uphill battle to earn a roster spot in Miami this year in a talented running back room that includes De'Von Achane, Jaylen Wright and Ollie Gordon II. However, he could've been an interesting practice squad candidate.
