Steelers predicted to offer standout DL a massive contract extension
· Yahoo Sports
The Pittsburgh Steelers already broke the bank on two standouts from their 2023 NFL Draft class, but one reporter believes it's only a matter of time before one more cashes out on a new contract.
According to Penn Live's Nick Farabaugh, the Steelers will not only likely sign Keeanu Benton to a new extension, but the talented nose tackle could receive a deal in the $16-18 million range annually.

"I think the figures on Benton could really surprise people," Farabaugh wrote via X. "If you look at the interior pass rusher market, especially if that’s your top trait (like Benton), those guys are paid handsomely. Turk Wharton got $15.06M on the open market. Have to believe Benton gets more than him."

Selected by the Steelers with the 49th overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Benton appeared in 51 games and made 40 starts during his first three seasons in the NFL.
Benton, who had a breakout year last season, is readying himself to be the next Steeler from the 2023 NFL Draft class to cash out on a new deal. But it remains to be seen when Joey Porter Jr. or Broderick Jones could receive the same treatment and also get an extension done.
