Big Grove Brewery creates new beer to support Iowa Athletics

IOWA CITY — The Iowa Athletics Department and Big Grove Brewery announced the release of "TIGERHAWK," a new beer created to support the university’s sports teams.

A portion of the proceeds from every pour, can and case sold will go directly toward Hawkeye athletics. These funds are dedicated to assisting the University of Iowa in the evolving landscape of collegiate sports, providing the resources necessary for success on the field, the court and the mat.
"TIGERHAWK directly supports the Hawkeyes," said Matt Swift, co-founder and CEO of Big Grove Brewery. "We wanted to create a beer that Iowans are proud to hold—not just because it looks amazing and tastes great, but because every sip helps the Hawks win. This is about fueling the next generation of Iowa legends."
While the iconic Tigerhawk logo represents the university’s elite athletic tradition, the beer itself is a tribute to the state of Iowa. Big Grove, which is homegrown in Iowa with deep roots in Solon, Iowa City, Des Moines and Cedar Rapids, crafted this lager to be approachable and inclusive. It is a beer for the farmer, the alum and the lifelong fan–a real Iowa beer.

"Big Grove understands what’s at the core of Hawkeye fans, and TIGERHAWK gives our fanbase a direct way to support our programs while enjoying a high-quality, local beer."
TIGERHAWK will be available year-round across the state starting June 8, with increased availability heading into football season this fall. The beer will be offered in multiple formats, including draft, 12-packs and 24-packs, as well as individual 16-oz cans in Kinnick Stadium and Carver-Hawkeye Arena during Hawkeye games and matches.
