In her second season, Bueckers has been central to the Dallas Wings' resurgence as a legitimate WNBA team. The Wings are 7-4 under first-year head coach Jose Fernandez, one season after a dismal 10-win campaign, and Bueckers' efforts have been recognized by ESPN in the outlet's WNBA awards tracker.
"(Bueckers') work in the weight room this offseason has allowed her to better withstand physicality, and she is as efficient as ever, shooting 50.0% from the floor and 41.2% from the 3-point arc," wrote ESPN's Alexa Philippou.

Bueckers is listed as one of the contenders for the MVP award, which remains the property of the Las Vegas Aces' A'ja Wilson. She is one of only three players -- the others being Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Plum -- to rank inside the WNBA's top 10 in points and assists per game.

Bueckers is averaging 18.7 points and 5.8 assists on elite efficiency. Dallas is second in the WNBA in offensive rating and no longer sports the league's worst defense. The Wings are on pace to win 28 games, which would be a franchise record.
While it might be "too soon" for her to win MVP amid Wilson's continuing dominance in Las Vegas, Bueckers' time is doubtlessly coming. If she continues at this rate, she will get MVP votes in this cycle and become an even stauncher contender for the award in the next year or two.
