Purdue football extended its commitment to the leader of Barry Odom’s front office, and nearly doubled his salary.

General manager Brandon Lee signed Jan. 28 a contract extension through the 2027 season. His salary increased to $360,000 in 2026 and $370,000 next year.

Lee’s original deal, paying him $200,000 annually, was set to expire after the 2026 season. IndyStar obtained the amended contract through a public records request.

Lee, a Lawrence Central grad who played for Odom at Missouri, came to Purdue as Odom’s GM in December 2023. He previously served as Mississippi State’s associate athletic director for student-athlete brand strategy & innovation. He also spent three years as assistant AD for name, image and likeness at Missouri.

Odom delegates much of the revenue share contract negotiation process to Lee and his staff. Athletic director Mike Bobinski has said Purdue will fully fund revenue share up to the cap, which was $20.5 million for the 2026 season.

Purdue signed 32 transfers following last season, and also retained several key players with contract extensions.

Purdue also recently rehired Jason Simmons, a longtime Indianapolis-area high school coach, as Lee’s assistant general manager. He and Lee worked together prior to Odom's first season when Simmons served as director of high school recruiting.
