Steelers' asking price for Alex Highsmith trade revealed

· Yahoo Sports

Pittsburgh Steelers edge rusher Alex Highsmith has been linked to multiple trade suitors, including the San Francisco 49ers, the Buffalo Bills, and the Philadelphia Eagles. And one 49ers insider has revealed the Steelers' alleged asking price for the talented pass rusher.

According to Sports Illustrated's Grant Cohn, the Steelers are looking for a second-round draft pick in exchange for Highsmith.

"What I'm hearing, they want a second-rounder for him," Cohn said via YouTube.

Highsmith, selected by the Steelers in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft, has recorded 45 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and 337 combined tackles in 90 career games.

The Steelers have all but made Highsmith expendable after signing Nick Herbig to a $100 million extension this offseason. While some reports suggest the team could keep their edge-rush trio intact for the 2026 season, a second-round draft pick may be too valuable to pass up.
