But the Cincinnati Bengalsreally like Cashius Howell.
It wasn’t all that long ago that Bengals brass hinted Howell would have been a first-round option for them, had they moved around the board on draft day.
They got Howell in the second round anyway and now Bengals assistant general manager Mike Potts has shared some big praise for the rookie.
“I think the quick wins he can give us as a rusher is really dynamic,” Potts told Dan Hoard. “His arsenal of rush tools and the moves that he has — I don’t wanna speak for anybody else — but I thought it was second-to-none in this draft class.”
Howell was a little bit of the anti-Shemar Stewart in terms of college production, putting up big numbers.
In terms of the upside conversation, the Bengals are letting Howell get some reps at linebacker so that they can use him all over the defense.
Oh, and another sign of just how much the Bengals like Howell? They didn’t blink at fully guaranteeing his contract despite being a second-round pick, either.
