Bo Nickal lobbied hard to get on the UFC White House card and he certainly made the most of his opportunity.

After dominating Kyle Daukaus on the ground, Nickal faced an early standup from referee Jason Herzog but that didn’t deter him from his ultimate plan. Back on the feet, Nickal nearly scored with a front kick but then hammered Daukaus with a straight left followed by a huge right hand behind it that sent the Philadelphia native down to the canvas.

Nickal followed with some vicious elbows on the ground as Daukaus could only cover up with the fight ending at 4:34 in the first round.

“It feels amazing,” Nickal said after his latest win. “I’m grateful to be here. I visualized about 100 different ways to finish that guy and that was one of them. Hard work pays off. I’m a wrestler, I’ve learned how to do a couple more things.”

Nickal ducked a punch and scored an emphatic takedown to open the fight as Daukaus adjusted and locked up the full guard on the ground. With Daukaus trying to lock him up, Nickal peppered away with short punches and elbows to maintain control on top.

Nickal was finally able to open up with a nasty elbow with a cut on Daukaus’ forehead that started bleeding across his face. A standup from the referee allowed Daukaus to reset on his feet and start throwing his hands as he connected with a solid punch.

But a split second later, Nickal unleashed a perfectly timed straight left followed by a right hook that dropped Daukaus to the ground. Nickal followed with a few more elbows as the fight was stopped in the opening round.

Now 9-1 in his career, Nickal appears poised for ranked competition following his second straight knockout and dispatching a veteran like Daukaus in impressive fashion.
