Dallas Ward, a defensive end from McIntosh High School in Georgia, announced June 16 that he had committed to Greg Schiano and the Scarlet Knights, becoming the 21st member of the class.
The 6-foot-3, 250-pound Ward picked Rutgers over finalists Michigan State and Minnesota.
Ward is the second Georgia recruit in the class, joining safety Dextavion Reese, who committed earlier in the month.
Rutgers continues to show that it’s finding recruiting success in its expanded footprint down south, including Georgia.
Dennis Dottin-Carter, the Scarlet Knights’ new defensive line coach, was Ward’s primary recruiter.
Dottin-Carter joined defensive coordinator Travis Johansen’s staff after spending last season as Minnesota’s defensive line coach.
Rutgers has put together a solid 2027 class, a notable accomplishment given how much recruiting has changed in the NIL world.
