Could Penn State lose out on four star WR prospect?

· Yahoo Sports

While Penn State may not need improvement at the wide receiver position, four star recruit Deshawn Hall has always been a priority. If the Nittany Lions somehow land his signature, it would be a huge landmark signing. Still, it is no guarantee that the Blue and white are even the favorites in this race. While he has taken an official visit already to Happy Valley, some are saying that the Auburn Tigers could be the favorites in the race.

According to Rivals, Auburn have about a 69.5 percent chance to land Deshawn Hall after his visit, with Penn State a distant second. The No. 9 receiver out of Alabama, it would make sense for Hall to want to stay close to home and potentially receive more monetary options for the future. However, when one takes into account the potential impact Hall could have on Penn State's WR room, there could be an instant place for Hall.

The Nittany Lions could need a new wide receiver on the boundary to replace redshirt senior Chase Sowell. Brett Eskildsen will return, but he fits a certain profile. Due to this, the Nittany Lions' WR coaches have done their due diligence to ensure that Hall is a familiar face and most importantly, would feel welcome in the Penn State community.
