Former NFL LB doesn't know what to think about 2026 Commanders

Sometimes, the most honest thing you could say about the Washington Commanders is, "I don't know."

The "Good Morning Football" crew on the NFL Network was talking about the Commanders this week. Former Notre Dame linebacker and eight-season NFL veteran Manti Te'o made it quite clear how he feels about the Commanders.

Though the early part of the conversation on the set was about Washington suffering many injuries in 2025, they recalled how the Commanders surprised the league, getting the job done in the 2024 season. Jayden Daniels was the key topic of discussion, as he was super in 2024 but missed 10 games in 2025.

When it was time for Manti Te'o to take center stage, he did so, but in a very surprisingly reserved fashion. "The expectations for the 2026 Commanders? I don't know, I honestly don't know what to expect of the Commanders. And this is why. I think overnight, they had guys you knew. You knew Bobby Wagner, Von Miller, Marshon Lattimore. You had Austin Ekeler at running back."

"Overnight, your middle linebacker is a rookie, his name is Sonny Styles. Your RB is a second-year pro, Bill Croskey-Merritt, whom we love. You went from Kliff Kingsbury to David Blough. Blough has the same amount of coaching as Jayden Daniels has had playing in the NFL. So, now he is the offensive coordinator? I don't know what to expect of the 2026 Commanders."

"What I will say is this, the 2024 Commanders taught me this: 'Don't sleep on them.'" Jayden Daniels taught us this: never sleep on the Commanders. In their first year, they went all the way to the NFC Championship Game, and I am not going to sleep on them, especially with Dan Quinn as head coach. I trust that Dan Quinn will get things back on track for that defense."

It's true there are so many questions about this team's personnel, its new coaching staff. We really don't have any idea what will happen this upcoming season.
