Amid growing reports that Real Madrid have identified Bayern Munich superstar Michael Olise as their primary Galactico transfer target this summer, the Spanish giants have come out and issued an official statement denying claims of contacting the player.

This comes after reports had suggested that Los Blancos’ CEO, Jose Angel Sanchez, had personally reached out to the French winger’s camp to discuss the possibility of a transfer this summer.

Real Madrid deny approach

However, in their statement, Real Madrid have denied having made any form of contact with Olise, his agents, or his camp.

“In response to reports in various media outlets regarding an alleged interest from our club in Bayern Munich player Michael Olise, Real Madrid wishes to state that it has not had any direct or indirect contact with the aforementioned player, his representatives, or anyone in his entourage.”

Continuing, Real Madrid highlighted their strong institutional relationship with Bayern Munich, which they said was built on ‘trust and mutual respect’ and there were no moves made to harm that.

“Real Madrid also wishes to highlight the excellent institutional relationship it maintains with Bayern Munich, with whom it shares a long history of mutual respect, collaboration and admiration, and regrets the spread of speculation that does not correspond to reality.”

No denial of interest

However, intriguingly, Real Madrid did not deny having interest in signing Olise, but instead suggested that any matters involving transfers must be carried out in club-to-club talks.

“Both clubs have always maintained a relationship based on trust and mutual respect, which is reflected, among other aspects, in the shared conviction that any potential interest in a player belonging to the other club must be dealt with first between the entities themselves, in accordance with the principles of institutional loyalty that have historically governed the relations between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.”

Olise has emerged as one of the most coveted stars in Europe after enjoying an exceptional season with Bayern Munich, playing a key role in their title triumph.

Real Madrid, who have identified the right flank as an area that needs reinforcement, see him as a dream signing, with even plan to table an offer of around €200 million or more.

However, Bayern Munich, so far, have no intention of selling their superstar attacker this summer.
