The NBA trade season is expected to gain momentum soon, especially with the first round of the draft scheduled for Tuesday. A handful of star players could be on the move, and Kyrie Irving might be one of them.
Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley published a mock trade on Tuesday that sent Irving to the Miami Heat.
Dallas Mavericks receive: Tyler Herro, Pelle Larsson and No. 13 pick
Miami Heat receive: Kyrie Irving, No. 30 pick and No. 48 pick
If this trade idea went through, it could spell good news for the Celtics. The Heat and Celtics seem to be the two main teams interested in acquiring Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo. If the Heat were to trade Herro in a deal for Irving, they would likely take themselves out of the running for Antetokounmpo.
Miami would likely have to give up Herro in any deal for Antetokounmpo. Trading him to Dallas for Irving would create a tough path for the Heat to land the Bucks' big man.
The Celtics should keep an eye on the trades that the Heat might make soon, which could potentially bring in a star player other than Antetokounmpo. If Miami were to acquire someone like Irving or another top talent, it could make it easier for Boston to land Antetokounmpo.
