According to Sports Illustrated’s Eva Geitheim, Kansas City Chiefs standouts Josh Simmons and Nohl Williams are both second-year players with breakout potential in 2026.

"Simmons notably looked toned when he spoke to reporters at mandatory minicamp, and after missing time as a rookie due to personal reasons and wrist injury, is in position to improve and become a consistent presence along the offensive line," Geitheim wrote of the former Ohio State Buckeye.
She also noted Williams' effectiveness in limited action last season, when he allowed just a 52.5 completion percentage and 82.9 passer rating.
Neither Simmons nor Williams was a consistent contributor for the Chiefs last season, and both faced headwinds in cementing their role with the former AFC champions.
While these sophomore stars were fighting for playing time last season, they are clearly facing sky-high expectations as Kansas City looks to rebound from its lackluster 2025 campaign with better results.
