The Rochester Red Wings took an early lead but ultimately fell to the Charlotte Knights 7-6 in 11 innings Thursday at Truist Field.

Rochester scored in each of the first four innings, starting with a solo home run by Abimelec Ortiz in the first. Phillip Glasser added an RBI single and Christian Franklin hit a two-run double in the second to extend the lead to 4-0.
Charlotte's Ryan Galanie responded with a solo homer in the bottom of the second. A wild pitch allowed Harry Ford to score in the third, and Yohandy Morales hit an RBI single in the fourth, giving the Red Wings a 6-1 advantage.
The Knights began their comeback in the fifth inning. Rikuu Nishida hit a sacrifice fly and Edgar Quero followed with an RBI groundout, cutting the deficit to 6-3. Korey Lee's solo home run in the sixth brought Charlotte within two runs.

Rochester's bullpen maintained the lead until the eighth, when Michael Turner singled ahead of Caden Connor, who hit a two-run homer to tie the game at 6.
Both teams failed to score with placed runners in the 10th inning. In the 11th, Luke Young took the mound for Rochester with Lee starting at second base under the extra-innings rule. The Knights scored with one out when Andy Weber singled to score Lee to end the game.
Ben Peoples (5-1, 2.45 ERA) earned the win in relief, while Young (3-1, 2.37) took his first loss of the season.
