Real Madrid midfielder target has €80m asking price

Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has asked the club’s sporting department to sign another midfielder during the upcoming summer transfer window. Despite having already brought in Bernardo Silva to compete alongside the likes of Fede Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni and Eduardo Camavinga, the Portuguese believes that another option is essential.
As things stand, Chelsea and Argentina star Enzo Fernandez is Mourinho’s favoured option, while he also has eyes for compatriot Mateus Fernandes, who plays for recently-relegated Premier League side West Ham United. Another target that has emerged in recent weeks is Ayyoub Bouaddi, who’s been one of the breakout stars of the 2026 World Cup.

Bouaddi is expected to leave Lille this summer due to strong interest from Europe’s elite, one of them being Real Madrid. According to Ben Jacobs (via CaughtOffside), a deal with the Ligue 1 side can be struck for €75-80m.
“There’s two clubs that are in to him from the Premier League, along with, for example, Real Madrid, who have looked, and PSG, and that’s Liverpool and Arsenal. This one could develop. Liverpool like the profile, he’s going to be one of the hottest properties in world football. It wouldn’t at all surprise me if Liverpool advanced this after the World Cup. The asking price at the moment is roughly €75-80m.”
Bouaddi is not a priority for Real Madrid right now
Presently, Bouaddi has Fernandez and Fernandes ahead of him in Real Madrid’s list of midfield targets, which is good news for the aforementioned trio of Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool and Arsenal. The lure of playing for the Bernabeu club is one that the Morocco international would have surely opted for, so if Los Blancos end up not moving for him, it would give extra chances for him to end up elsewhere.
For now, it remains to be seen who Real Madrid sign as their new midfielder, but Bouaddi is unlikely to be the one sought at this stage.
